Though I've been out of full-time preaching for many years, I vividly remember when I began my 25 years of local work. I was 21 years old and started with a clear head. By that I mean I had no hair on my head - and very little of anything in it. However, I did have the confidence that goes with ignorance. Thank the Lord for my devoted wife and understanding brethren. How I wish I'd had this book! It would have spared me much needless majoring in minors and would have made me a more mature, more effective preacher. Excellent. Makes me think of when I was younger.
Very helpful advice for preachers of the Gospel! However, I think people of various religious groups will find this book to be very practical and helpful. The chapters are blatantly honest, insightful, and based on principles from the Bible. I have not read it all yet, but am enjoying it immensely.
This is a book that every young preacher should have. I as a young preacher have benefitted from reading this book. It condenses down years of information from different sources and puts it into an easily read and understandable format. These are the principles that make preachers successful. Warren understands these things and puts them into a book that every preacher should read and apply.
